Science & technology
2 questionsWhat are the advantages of using Strataderm instead of physical silicone sheets?
Strataderm dries into its own thin silicone film, so there is no sheet to cut or tape in place. The gel can be used on joints and hairy areas without shaving. This practical difference does not establish that gel is better for every scar or free from skin reactions. Your clinician can help choose an appropriate form of silicone therapy.
Explore StratadermWhat is the difference between the silicone in Strataderm and household silicone?
Strataderm is a silicone formulation intended for scar therapy. Household silicone products are made for different purposes and should not be substituted for a product intended for use on skin.

Strataderm should be applied gently as a very thin coat on the affected area. The area should be clean and dry. Strataderm will stay on top of the skin, therefore rubbing is not required and will not increase the effectiveness.
